Kitchen Staff

Position Type: Volunteer

Position Description

Kitchen Staff report to the kitchen manager and assist in the completion of all assigned activities (as per the Kitchen Manager/Head Chef job description).


This is a volunteer position.


A non-exhaustive list of responsibilities includes:

  • Work with the Kitchen Manager/Chef to properly prepare meals, taking special care for people with allergies/dietary restrictions

  • Assist with putting out food; occasionally serve the meal

  • Do dishes and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen

  • Assist in the maintenance of kitchen inventory

  • Possess a commitment to safe food handling procedures 

  • Get servsafe server certification

  • Communicate effectively with various populations

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects 

  • Work in extreme heat

  • Hear and listen

  • Sit, stoop, kneel, crouch

  • Work with chemicals

  • Work with noise.
