Seasonal Staff

Who can volunteer with Camp Lilac?

Anyone ages 18 or older can apply to volunteer with Camp Lilac. Experience working with youth and/or the transgender/gender diverse community is recommended but not required.

If you are (or will be) 18 years old or a current high school senior who will have graduated by the time camp begins, you are eligible to apply for the Staff in Training program.

If you are (or will be) 17 years old, you are eligible to apply as a camper or Junior Staff member. Please begin your application as a camper.

When is camp?

Camp Session 1 (including training & clean up) - July 19th through July 28th

Camp Session 2 (including training & clean up) - July 26th through August 4th

Sessions have the same programming, and staff can apply to attend one or both. Partial week opportunities also may be possible for nursing, mental health, or kitchen staff.

Where is camp?

Camp Lilac is held at a campsite in West Central Ohio, located about an hour outside of Columbus. For safety and privacy reasons, the exact location is only shared after a staff member has been accepted to volunteer and completed a background check.

Is there compensation for staff?

Camp Lilac is a volunteer driven organization. All positions, with the exception of kitchen manager, are volunteer. Funding for transportation may be available.
